Stand With Us

At the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, sometimes we talk about “the new old St. John’s” when we talk about living out our legacy of civil rights and community rights. For us, it’s not enough to glory in past civil rights victories under the leadership of Fr. Nelson Pinder. We believe that there is still work to do.

For this reason, Our rector, Fr. Charles T. Myers seeks to lead us in continuing this legacy through his work with Poor People's Campaign. The Poor People's Campaign is rooted in Dr. Martin Luther King's vision of bringing those affected by poverty together to speak truth to power. Right Rev Dr. William Barber II is carrying on that legacy in the 21st century by organizing communities.

As the Chair of the Central Florida Poor People's Campaign, the good Rector invites you to join us as we find ways to advocate for people from all walks of life who are one paycheck or one pandemic away from losing everything.
